Airplane
Flight Training Programs
Dreaming
of becoming a pilot? Wondering what the benefits of being a
pilot are? Let our professional instruction staff help
you meet your dreams and answer any questions you may have. The
programs listed below designed for recreational through professional
pilots.
PRIVATE PILOT- The Private Pilot Certificate
is the base license new pilots are working towards. This program
takes someone who
has
never
flown an aircraft or attended any flight training and prepares
them for Federal Aviation Administration certification as a Private
Pilot. If you already have some flight training and would like
to discuss the possibility of completing your flight training
with us that is no problem. Our talented instructors will evaluate
your current training records and determine the continuation point
of your training.
It's easier than you think to earn
your Private Pilot Certificate. A typical flight lesson begins with a short preflight briefing
where you and your instructor discuss the learning objectives
for your lesson. Next you and your instructor perform a preflight
inspection of your aircraft and prepare for your flight. Under
your flight instructors guidance you will take the controls and
fly the aircraft performing the maneuvers discussed prior to flight.
At all times your instructor will be providing input and assistance
to ensure a relaxed and safe training environment.
Our Private Pilot Program uses the Cessna "Cleared for Takeoff" training
syllabus to ensure that both instructor and student are prepared and have the
same expectations for each flight or ground lesson. The Cessna "Cleared
for Takeoff" private pilot kit contains everything you need to begin your
flight training. It uses a combination of textbook and computer based training
that tracks your progress and updates our master computer automatically over
the internet or via disk if preferred. This method of tracking our students progress
has proved to
be highly effective and beneficial to both the student and instructor. It
also replaces the need for our students to attend a formal ground school which
typically
cost $500.00 dollars or more. Our goal is to make flight training more
affordable than our competition. That is another reason we use this program.
You save money over attending a formal classroom ground school, the kit includes
all the training material required for your Private Pilots License, and on top
of that we have reduced the price of the Private Pilot kit. The
use
of
a
defined syllabus is not required by the Federal Aviation Administrations, but
we have
found that
students benefit from its use and statistically complete flight training
in
30% less time. If you would like to know more about this flight
training syllabus or would like to schedule a demonstration
please contact our office at 856-740-0333 or Email us.
Flight
training is typically a pay-as-you-go and therefore you are
not required to pay for all your flight training
up front. You can begin for as little as $49.00 by taking one
of our Intro Flights.
Below is an estimate of the costs associated with earning Private
Pilot Certificate.
Private Pilot Program
40 Hours of Cessna 152 Flight Time $2240.00
20Hours of Flight Instruction $660.00
10 Hours of Ground Instruction $330.00
*Private Pilot Estimate: Only $3230.00
* Flight and instruction estimates are based on the FAA flight
and instruction requirement for Private Pilot Certification.
INSTRUMENT RATING - As
with our other flight training lessons our Instrument Rating Program
uses a defined
flight and ground training
syllabus. We also use the latest version of ASA's PCATD IFR Simulator.
Flying a simulator in instrument conditions is extremely valuable
during instrument training. It allows the instructor to stop the
flight and assist the student with IFR Procedures. This stops
the development of negative habits and is something that can
not be performed in the air. 10 Hours of flight time can be logged
in our PCATD for your Instrument Rating which also saves money
of aircraft rental fees.
The
On Top PCATD meets the FAA requirements for a loggable training
device, as outlined in Advisory Circular 61-126. Up to 10 hours
can be logged towards the instrument rating, plus an unlimited
amount of ground training hours.
Like our Private Pilot Program, our Instrument Rating Program
uses the Cessna Integrate Flight Training system. The Cessna "Cleared
for Approach" flight training syllabus is designed around
the Cessna 172 flight training aircraft. The Philadelphia
Flight Academy has a fleet of 5 Cessna 172s including a brand
new 2005 Cessna 172SP. Because this flight training syllabus
is designed around the actual aircraft we operate, what the
student pilot watches in the Computer based training, and
reads is the Instrument training text applies directly and
accurately to the actual aircraft our students fly. This
training program also eliminates the need for a formal ground
school. You can start training today by ordering your syllabus
online. If you would like to know more about this flight
training syllabus or would like to schedule a demonstration
please contact our office at 856-740-0333 or Email us.
Below is an estimate of the
costs associated with earning an Instrument Rating.
Instrument Rating Program
30 Hours of Cessna 172 Flight Time $2370.00
10 Hours of PCATD Time $390.00
15 Hours of Flight Instruction $495.00
10 Hours of Ground Instruction $330.00
*Private Pilot Estimate: Only $3585.00
* Flight and instruction estimates are based on the FAA flight and
instruction requirement for Instrument Rating.

CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
- You've learned it, now you want to help others
learn it. The flight instructor's certificate is the ticket you
need to proceed. Let us help. Our FAA Part 61 CFI course is just
what you need to become a CFI.
The major emphasis in the CFI program is learning how to teach
and how to develop lesson plans, syllabuses, and a library of
training materials. During the ground school portion of the course
you will build a personalized training manual and teach every
lesson required from the student level to CFI candidate. It is
a fun, but demanding challenge that will teach you much about
flying. If you really want to learn a subject, teach it to someone
else. If you want to really learn aviation, become a flight instructor.
The flying portion of the course consists of moving to the right
seat and being able to fly all the private and commercial level
maneuvers to PTS tolerances. Most CFI candidates master these
requirements in short order. The practical test for your initial
CFI certificate is conducted by an FAA inspector and requires
a complex airplane. The CFI certificate for airplanes can carry
the Airplane Single Engine, Airplane Multi-engine, and/or Instrument
Airplane ratings. These additional ratings are added to the CFI
certificate in the same manner as there are earned for your commercial
pilot certificate, via a practical test. The practical test for
this rating is typically conducted by a designated examiner. Contact
our office at 856-740-0333 for more information, or Email us.
CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
INSTRUMENT - This course is designed
to take a holder of a Certified Flight Instructor single or multi
engine
airplane rating to completion of the Certified Flight Instrument
Instructor (CFII) rating in just days. Expand your career horizons
as a professional pilot by taking this course and adding this
rating. Contact
our office at 856-740-0333 for more information, or Email us.
MULTI ENGINE INSTRUCTOR -Philadelphia

FLYING FOR YOUR COUNTRY
INITIAL FLIGHT TRAINING -
IFT (Introductory Flight Training) introduces qualified Specialized
Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) candidates to the basics of
aviation. SUPT candidates who do not have a Private Pilot Certificate
(PPC) or higher are exposed to the fundamentals of aviation during
their 50 hours of civilian flight instruction in a program that
leads to a PPC. For SUPT candidates who already hold a PPC (or higher),
a five-hour "top-off" program is required if more than
two years has elapsed between your last check-ride or flight review
and your SUPT start date. During these five hours you must receive
a flight review in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulation Part
61.56.
Course completion requirements for the 50-hour program are simple.
The student must fly a total of 50 hours, no more/no less. The
student must solo at least once prior to attaining 25 hours. The
student must successfully complete all requirements and receive
a Private Pilot Certificate prior to attaining the 50 hours. Any
student that flies more than 50 hours prior to receiving an HQ
AETC waiver to do so will be financially responsible for those
hours and may lose their SUPT assignment. Civilian flying schools
at more than 180 locations throughout the United States have been
given contracts to conduct IFT for commissioned officers scheduled
to enter SUPT
